Drinking horn, hand engraved, "Mead of poetry " with metal stand

Description

The legendary mead of poetry was brewed from the blood of Kvasir, the wisest of the Gods. To sip the mead would give you mastery over poetry, verse, and song. A skald and a scholar you would become. The 3 crossed horns are a symbol of the mead and how Odin stole it from the giant Suttungr. The horns are covered in knotwork. There are runic inscriptions top and bottom in younger futhark long branch. The top says, " mead of poetry ". The bottom says, " from the blood of Kvasir". The horn is not recommended for hot liquids and not dishwasher safe. See pics for details and thanks for looking.
