Miss Saigon PLAYBILL first German Production Stuttgart 1994/5 season
Miss Saigon is a musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg,
On the 2nd December 1994 the Premiere of the Musical in the German language occurred within the 'Freizeit- und Erlebniscentrum Stuttgart', and has been performed ever since.
The Musical is based on the Novel "Madame Chrysanthemum", written by not very well known french authors. The authors, lain Boulil und Claude - Michel Schönberg set the Musical in the 20th Century and explains the unlucky Love Story between a young Asian girl and an American solder in the backdrop of the Vietnam war. The critics worldwide were enthrilled by the Musical, not simply because of the love story, but also because of the critical aspects associated within that time period.
The fantastic capabilities of the performers, the majority being Asian, provide for the "Unforgetable Musical Experience of a Lifetime". More than 40 different scenary changes are performed throughout the Musical, the majority taking less than 20 seconds to complete. One of the best special effects is the landing of an authentic American Helicopter, with 8 meter long rotor-blades.
