Description

For sale is one of Banthrico's oldest souvenir building banks: Petersburg Savings & American Trust Co. of Petersburg, Virginia -- "The Oldest Bank in the Oldest State in the United States" as inscribed around its base.
See Monumental Miniatures # 1032 which dates it to the 1950s with a rarity rating of IV/V and a value of 3/6 (0-0).
Lance Oldham in his definitive catalog of Banthrico Building Banks dates it more specifically to 1954.
It measures 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" x 3 1/4".
The bank is in very good used condition though I would note that the trap, while intact and locked appears to have been pried at some point and so is slightly bent -- see photos.
There is no key.
This is one of Banthrico's rarer building banks that does not come up often.
